An electric towel warmer could be a waste of money or the best investment you have ever made.

by zoogie on October 30th, 2007

They have been advertised a lot lately, but is an electric towel warmer right for you or the person you plan to nuy it for? Before you purchase one, consider how often you will use it and the alternatives that may work just as well. If you are thinking about buying it as a gift, be sure the recipient will be as enthusiastic about receiving the gift as you are giving it. The concept behind the product is warm and inviting, but is an electric towel warmer practical? If it is used on a regular basis, it could be one of the best investments you have ever made. If it sits in a closet somewhere, it could be a complete waste of money. I thought about getting one for myself, but then I reconsidered. On cold days, I toss my towel in the clothes dryer for a few minutes before I shower. I get the same results, and I didn’t have to buy a fairly expensive product to warm my towel for me.

Save Money Buying Women’s Designer Handbags

by zoogie on October 23rd, 2007

None of us have money to throw away. You want to make sure that you get a good value whenever you spend money. So, is an authentic designer handbag, made of leather really worth thousands of dollars? No. Unfortunately those with money continue to buy handbags no matter how high the costs go. For those of us who don’t have money to waste we need to look into replica designer handbags. These handbags are a great value for the money, but be careful what you choose. A $29 Coach handbag is going to be a piece of junk. A very well made replica designer handbag can cost around $200, but will be worth every penny due to quality and craftsmanship.

To self-publish or not to self-publish… That is the question.

by zoogie on October 23rd, 2007

Be careful when you decide to self-publish. Many bookstores refuse to sell books that are published in this manner. Self-publishing allows an author to put just about anything into print. Many bookstore owners take offense to the content of certain self-published books. Self-publishing eliminates the need for editing. Bookstore owners may refuse to put your book on their shelves due to mistakes in spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Another common reason why bookstore owners may refuse to sell your book… the cover itself. Self-publishers do not normally spend a lot of time or money on illustrating the book. Bookstore owners do not want to offer books that are not appealing.

I had to finance shelving!

by zoogie on October 22nd, 2007

It allows you to organize your home and create more living space, but shelving can be expensive. If you’ve recently purchased shelving for your home, you know how much it can cost. If you’re planning to purchase shelving, you will soon see how expensive it can be. Our home did not offer any storage space at all. We were in desperate need of organization. Storing our belongings in boxes created a major problem. We were always digging through boxes to find what we needed, and we had little living space available. My wife and I went to a local home improvement store to explore our options for meeting our storage needs. In order to purchase the number of shelving units that we needed, we had to apply for the store’s charge card. We were finally organized, but we had to finance the materials to do so.

COllectors often run into good deals at buy outs, going out of business sales and beneficary sales (after someone dies.) But financing these large purchases can be difficult. For example, finding a way to finance a large Doll Collecting package from an auciton may be tough, so head to BankRate.com and check out current credit card rates and packages. Some offer points and other rewards systems. Then apply and see which way you can save.

Is tuition for online degrees comparable to tuition at traditional colleges and universities?

by zoogie on October 16th, 2007

The popularity of online degrees is rising. Many people choose this type of instruction due to family commitments and work schedules. Other people choose this route to avoid the commute and the rising cost of gasoline. Some people like these programs because they can learn at their own pace rather than be required to meet strict deadlines. For some, an online program is their only opportunity to earn a college degree. I have often wondered how tuition rates compare. Is tuition for online degrees and traditional degrees about the same, or does it cost more to obtain one or the other?

Retractable Awning Prices - How Do They Compare?

by zoogie on October 12th, 2007

My husband and I are looking for a retractable awning. We would like a quality awning at an affordable price. We want something that will survive the hard winters that we have in our area and last for a number of years. We are not familiar with very many brands, and we are not really sure what is a good price for an awning like this. Is anyone familiar with retractable awning prices so that we can compare? Are there any brands that are a sure bet or any that we should steer away from?
